The Mercedes AMG One is the latest development in the field of road legal racecars. The car was unveiled in 2017, but the launch was delayed by strict legal restrictions for quite a while. It was to be expected though, seeing Mercedes is bringing a true-bred Formula One engine to the road. Limited to 11.000 RPM and not going quite up to the usual 13.500 – 15.000 RPM of a track-only Formula One car, the sound still is that of a troaring race car. Due to the limitation the engine has only to be overhauled every 50.000 km, saving a lot of money. Mercedes is very open about wanting to bring the track feeling of a Formula One car to their discerning clientele.
